The Mekong Delta (Vietnamese: Sông Cửu Long “Nine Dragon’s River Delta”) is located in southwestern Vietnam; here the Mekong River empties into the sea through a huge network of bigger channels and smaller arroyos, a perfect settlement for highly productive fishing farms. Its rich and fertile soils are famed for being the country’s main orchard and source of paddy too, so the whole region is mostly home for farmers and fishermen living in remote and quiet countryside.

A few main towns offer provincial charm with some tracks of the French colonial heritage: Can Tho is the region’s capital, Chau Doc is border town with Cambodia, while Sa Dec, Binh Long, Long Xuyen, My Tho and Cai Be are possible touristic destinations, a few hours away from Ho Chi Minh City only.
